DONG Energy is one of the leading energy groups in Northern Europe headquartered in Denmark. Their core business is based on procuring, producing, distributing and trading in energy and related products in Northern Europe. They have over 6,000 employees and have generated DKK 55 billion (EUR 7.3 billion) in revenue in 2010. 

Not to mention here that the history of the company says all about, the diversity of the systems, differences in the processes adopted for Change Management, tools used for testing and solution documentation etc. This is where ImpleVista pitched in to help DONG in effective maintenance and control of all SAP systems, adopt uniform Change Management process supported by an efficient and reliable Transport Request management process, espouse more authentic Test Management and Solution documentation process.

ImpleVista implemented Application Cockpit for the DECS ECC platforms in February 2009 with the basic Transport Request Management using SAP workflow. Since then ImpleVista has rolled-out different solutions like Change Request Management, Support Message and Standard Change Management, Transport Request Management, Solution/Document Management, Test and Quality Management, User and Role Administration, Estimation and Resource Planning, System Monitoring, System Overview and System Access Request (SAR) in phases. 

More advanced solutions like Estimation and Resource Planning tool, Authorization Cockpit and audit tracking tool, Quality Gate tool etc to fulfill custom needs of DONG Energy have been implemented ever since then.  ImpleVista Application Cockpit is now acting as the central tool to guide and manage all the SAP implementation, upgrade and maintenance projects at DONG for various platforms like DONG Energy Central Systems (DECS) ECC and BI, Joint Venture Accounting (JVA) Exploration and Production and S&D Industry Specific Utility ECC and CRM. Furthermore implementation of ImpleVista Application Cockpit is on its way for the last remaining SAP systems on the S&D EL-SAP and GAS-SAP platforms during the 2011 summer. 

The Application Cockpit has helped DONG Energy save significant costs over the past few years by improvising the SAP implementation and project roll-outs and also by expelling other third party Support Desk tools (like OMADA). Leveraging ImpleVista Application cockpit has improved IT Support Processes at DONG significantly, especially with the System Access Request (SAR) functionality, as mentioned in an article “Working together – Under the hood of the SAR“in the IT News magazine of DONG Energy. 

SAR has substantially reduced the workload on the Supporting Services Team by helping them assign roles very quickly and thus resolve the SAR cases faster.
